ABOUT #FHPWEEK
Forensic Healthcare Practitioner Week (FHPWeek) is a vital celebration recognising the diverse contributions of Forensic Healthcare Practitioners (FHPs) in the UK, a group integral to both healthcare and justice systems. Spanning a week, FHPWeek highlights the essential roles played by nurses, paramedics, midwives, and doctors within police custody and Sexual Assault Referral Centres. With inspiration drawn from the International Association of Forensic Nurses’ Forensic Nurses Day, UKAFNP aims to foster inclusivity and awareness of the full spectrum of the forensic workforce, honouring their dedication and impact on communities nationwide.

Empowering Everyone: Championing Neurodiversity in Forensic Healthcare
4 - 10 November 2024
This year’s theme builds on UKAFNP’s 2024 conference, “Empower Wellbeing: Overcoming Inequalities in Health and Justice”, by focusing on the unique experiences of neurodivergent nurses, paramedics, midwives, and doctors working in these demanding roles.
Throughout the week, UKAFNP will:
- Celebrate the contributions of forensic healthcare practitioners, particularly those who are neurodivergent.
- Raise awareness of the specialised skills required in this field and the value of neuro-inclusive workplaces.
- Promote changes that support neurodiverse practitioners and enhance care standards.
We invite everyone to follow the campaign via UKAFNP’s social media platforms (X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) and our website at www.ukafnp.org, where we’ll be sharing recorded messages, tweets, and key resources throughout the week.
